From Bricks to Clicks: Building Navah Consulting’s new website

Hi, this is Ken from JellyCode taking the pen today here on the Navah Consulting blog.

It’s with great pleasure that I announce the successful development and deployment of the new navah-consulting.co.uk!

Working with Jon and his team was an absolute treat, and the culmination of this website was the result of collaboration, creativity, and the efforts of several key people.

Reimagining Navah Consulting’s Homepage

Old Navah Consulting Hero Section

Our first meeting quite literally hit a brick wall. My suggestion to remove the dark, grungy brick wall background from Jon’s homepage was met with some fierce resistance. While I explained that it gave the impression of an edgy Shoreditch nightclub (not ideal for a chartered surveying firm), Jon’s love of brickwork was clear. It was then I made a promise: we’d find a modern, contemporary way to incorporate bricks into the website while maintaining a professional aesthetic.

New Navah Consulting Hero Section

The solution? A subtle yet impactful layer of bricks as a divider between the hero section and the main body content below. This not only provided a unique design element but also preserved Jon’s passion for brickwork while steering clear of the nightclub vibes.

Bringing the Design to Life

Special thanks goes to Ant, who crafted the brick design elements seen throughout the website. Starting with a vectorised sketch I provided, Ant elevated the design using a real-life brick image, integrating Navah Consulting’s brand guidelines to create a cohesive look. The added depth and texture transformed these elements into versatile assets, now used as backdrops for social media graphics, icons, and images.

New Hero Section Highlights

A well-crafted hero section is the cornerstone of any effective website, and Navah Consulting’s new hero section hit all the key criteria:

  • SEO Optimisation: Prioritising a high-value keyword within the H1 tag.

  • Tagline and Pitch: Brand and value proposition.

  • Social Proof: Establishing trust with Jon’s fantastic reviews!

  • Clear Next Steps: Encouraging users to take action.

  • Consistent Branding: All these components are wrapped within a polished, professional design aligned with the brand guidelines.

Content Organisation and Personability

One of the primary focuses of this project was organizing the content into more legible, punchy sections. This structure not only improves readability but also guides users seamlessly through the website.

Additionally, we enhanced the site’s personability by adding a team section and quotes from Jon. These elements provide users with a glimpse of the people behind the company, differentiating Navah Consulting from competitors and fostering a sense of trust and connection.

Extending the Brand Beyond the Website

Beyond the website, JellyCode also brought Navah Consulting’s new email signature, logo and branding to life. A big thank you to Lucy (lucyspringett@live.co.uk) for designing what I can confidently say is the best email signature I’ve ever seen. Her brilliant brand guidelines were a dream to work with, streamlining the design and development process.
